Saturday 27th September Beating of the Northern Bounds of the Manor of East Harford

In September, our Harford Special Spaces events are as follows:

Parish Breakfast in St Petroc’s 8.30 to 10am on Saturday 27th September.  All welcome. Small cash donation requested.

Followed by

Beating of the Northern Bounds of the Manor of East Harford

Harford will be beating the bounds of the ancient manor on the eastern side of the Erme on Saturday 27 September.  All are welcome!

The group will leave Harford Church at 10 am and should get back there at about 6 pm. This year we are beating the northern half of the parish, which entails a long and strenuous walk of about 10 miles, almost all of it on the moor and frequently off paths.  As it runs right up the valley, there are no easy options for dropping off once we have started, though of course you are welcome to turn back at any point.  Please bring warm and waterproof clothing, strong boots, a packed lunch, snacks, a flask and water. We will have first aiders on the walk. Tea and cake will be available in the church at the end of the walk.

The Lord of the Manor will present a commemorative mug to each participant who completes the route, and these may be purchased by others.
